I remember during one of our first years in Haiti reading through the book of Genesis and reading this verse: And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after Him that seeth me? Gen 16:13 Knowing that even there, in a foreign land, far from family and friends, God was the God who sees, gave me incredible comfort and peace.
But does knowing God is the God who sees bring you comfort and peace?
In Proverbs it says: The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Prov 15:3
And in Jeremiah it says: For Mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from My face, neither is their iniquity hid from Mine eyes. Jeremiah 17:17
God is love. (1 John 4:8b) But God is also holy and righteous. (Psalm 145:17) and it says in Psalms:
God is angry with the wicked every day. Psalm 7:11b
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke Me? and how long will it be ere they believe Me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? Numbers 14:11
And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and His anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. Number 11:1
By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed. Job 4:9
For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. Lam 3:22-23
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6-7
For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen. 2 Cor 1:20a
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Ezekiel 33:11
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Mark 1:14-15
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:14-16
Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and He shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Isaiah 13:9
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 Thes 1:8
And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, Gen 6:3a
Now will I shortly pour out My fury upon thee, and accomplish Mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations. Ezekial 7:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Rev 21:8
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; Hebrews 2:3a
